Three Goat Farm CSA is a Community Supported Agricultural (CSA) farm, serving the Mohawk Valley. The farm is a small diversified family-run farm, specializing in seasonal vegetable, herbs and some seasonal fruit. Located on 9 acres just off Route 233 in Westmoreland on South Street, between Route 5 and the NYS Thruway.
Between us, Bernie & I have over 40 years of farming and growing experience. We are committed to growing healthy and delicious food to feed our Mohawk Valley community.
Here at Three Goat Farm, we pride ourselves on being a NOFA-NY ” Farmer Pledge” farm for three years now. Growing crops using only practices and products approved for organic production, with a long term goal of building healthy soil and biodiversity to grow the best tasting veggies.
Three Goat Farm is not certified organic, but follows all the rules and practices approved for organic certification. This includes the use of row covers and crop rotation to naturally reduce disease and pests. Irrigating with drip systems to minimize water usage.
We use IPM (integrated pest management) and eradicate pests in the early stages of the problem by using natural enemies (beneficial insects), natural solutions and absolutely NO pesticides or insecticides. In addition to IPM, when necessary we use organic food grade diatomaceous earth to keep bugs out of the garden. Chicken manure, compost, mineral amendments and some organically approved fertilizers (like fish emulsion) are use for soil improvement.
Three Goat Farm sources all of our seeds from organic non-GMO sources, with the focus on heirloom veggies.
