Three Goat Farm CSA is a Community Supported Agricultural (CSA) farm, serving the Utica-Rome area. The farm is located on 9 acres just off Route 233 in Westmoreland on South Street, between Route 5 and the NYS Thruway.
Bernie & Denise Szarek have over 30 years of farming and growing experience. They have been growing using hydoponic methods for 6 years. As “Good Stewards” of the land feel very strongly about this growing method.
They use IPM (integrated pest management) and eradicate pests in the early stages of the problem by using natural enemies (beneficial insects), natural solutions and absolutely NO pesticides or insecticides.
Wow with this beautiful mild winter we are really getting a head start on next season!! All the tomatoes both heirloom and salsa tomatoes will be planted by the end of today. We are busy also planting pac chaoi, pea shoots and lettuce for the remaining winter farmer’s markets.
March 1st sees flowers entering the greenhouse and more bedding plants will be seeded. Before you know it June will be here and CSA Pick ups will start!! See you all very soon and thank you for your support of our family farm!!
